Environment (ENV)

The access to drinkable water is one of the main problems of the world. In this regard, supramolecular chemistry and molecular recognition can be exploited for the removal of pollutants from water. This can be achieved through the creation of novel supramolecular systems for the reversible and selective capture of pollutants from aqueous systems, but also by creating nanostructured water/ion channels that can be integrated into filtration membranes. Accordingly, new supramolecular technologies will be developed to assess the removal of specific pollutants (phosphates, aromatic compounds, hydrocarbons, etc) from water as well as the purification of wastewater.
