Supramolecular approaches (self-assembling, host-guest, dynamic covalent chemistry) have been used to understand and interact with biomolecular entities, eventually leading to new therapeutic hits, diagnostic methods, chemical tools for biological research and smart delivery systems. Thus, it is very important to gain knowledge on supramolecular self-assembly of biological building blocks in water. Moreover, the utilization of polymeric supramolecular systems (polymeric micelles, vesicles, and hydrogels) for drug delivery is also very challenging. The collaboration of several groups of SUPRAMAT would be clearly beneficial to develop new materials in this important field.
